Abstract
The primary mucocele of the Appendix is a very rare disease of which incidence varied from 0.1 to 0.3% of every Appendectomy cases.
The pseudomyxoma pentonei is the result from ruptured malignant mucocele of Appendix or other organ (ovary).
The malignant mucocele of Appendix is very similar in appearence to benign mucocele.
The distention of Appendix is the result of cellular proliferation and neoplastic secretion rather than damming-up of normal secretion in benign mucocele.
Woodruff and McDonald stated that ratio of occurence of malignant and benign mucocele is 1:8 approximatly of surgically discovered cases.
2-cases of pseudomyxoma pentonei due to ruptured malignant mucocele of Appendix are reported with a brief review of literature.
